Response messaging

The ATO has published a review draft list of APRA funds and their status in meeting the error messaging requirement for implementation of SuperStream Contributions. Refer to APRA funds error messaging status report 15 March 2016 (PDF, 51KB).

Funds have until COB Friday 25 March 2016 to notify the ATO of any updates or alterations to this list after which it will be published as a final version (V1) effective as at that date.  Further versions will be published at the end of April and May 2016 to reflect updates in status at these times.

In keeping with the Business response messaging framework user guide, automated error volumes are now beginning to grow significantly and replace manual responses. The ATO will continue to monitor the progress of these implementations over the coming months and work closely with industry in identifying further improvements which would reduce the causes of these errors.  Any implementation of contributions error messaging (CTERs) not completed by 31 May 2016 will be referred to APRA with advice that it is not compliant with the SuperStream Data and Payment Standard 2012

This updates our earlier advice, SuperStream Contribution Transaction Error Response (CTER) Implementation Update (DOCX, 257KB) of 19 October 2015.
