Description

We are seeking nominations for DSP representatives to join our new Single Touch Payroll (STP) advisory and Employer transition working groups.

These groups are being established to help shape, influence and implement STP phase two through members’ collective knowledge, experience and influence.

The Single Touch Payroll Advisory Group will assist to:

  • Provide leadership across industry on the STP measures.
  • Shape and influence ATO thinking, design and implementation – collaboratively working together in a co-design approach.
  • Identify, assess and make recommendations:
  • on issues that may inhibit achievement of the Government’s STP commitment
  • related to innovations that may assist in further operational efficiencies being achieved as part of STP.

The Employer Transition Working Group will take a coordinated and shared approach to:

  • Provide insights into the experience of employers, including perceived challenges and opportunities for a smoother transition experience.
  • Champion and promote the transition to the expanded STP data set.
  • Increase awareness of the change within the community and clients.
  • Collaboratively shape and influence the STP internal and external readiness, stakeholder engagement, communications, and transition strategies.
  • Identify, assess and make recommendations:
  • on issues that may inhibit a successful change journey for STP stakeholders
  • products that will assist clients and businesses in their transition
  • on methodologies that may further assist in achieving successful change.

We are looking for representatives from various industries including large and small employers, industry and professional associations, tax and BAS agents, as well as digital service providers.

The candidates will ideally:

  • have an in-depth understanding of payroll
  • have an understanding of how STP works for employers
  • be generally supportive of STP and the expansion of data
  • be connected to industry to gain insights and share information
  • be a member of only one STP consultative group
  • be prepared to meet monthly as well as attend a small number of out-of-session content review tasks.
