As part of our ongoing optimisation of the SBR2 platform, some XML documents may now only have a LineFeed character as the end-of-line character. This change to some SBR2 XML document layouts were made in the recent SBR2 EVTE release (22-23 August 2020).
Previously, all SBR2 XML documents used both Carriage-Return and Linefeed as the end-of-line character.
This change may only impact digital service providers who have built a custom XML parser to check the format of their XML documents. They are reminded that the XML international web standard requires the parser to ‘translate both the two-character sequence #xD #xA and any #xD that is not followed by #xA to a single #xA character’. Any XML parser which conforms to this standard will not be impacted by this change.
An update to SBR2 production is scheduled for 26-27 September 2020.
