From 1 January 2020, Commonwealth Government agencies capable of receiving eInvoices have been paying eligible eInvoices within five days and paying interest on any late payments.
The government has now announced a mandate for eInvoicing by all agencies by 1 July 2022, with over 80% of invoices being able to be received electronically by 1 July 2021.
As a digital service provider supporting government agency clients or suppliers to government, there are two ways your software solution can be eInvoicing enabled:
- you can partner with one or more access points who are Peppol certified, or
- you can become an access point yourself and achieve Peppol certification and become accredited in Australia.
