The Activity Statement 2023 service remediation working group is an ATO initiative that will engage with industry representatives to explore pathways to remediate the activity statement 2023 service to ensure we have a fit for purpose service for DSPs.

Status of AS remediation work
The ATO has commenced work on the AS2025 service. Delivery is on track for March 2025 EVTE release and June 2025 production release.
High level comparison of behaviour
The group was provided with a technical overview of the changes in behaviour of the new AS2025 service and a comparison of the AS2009 and AS2023 services. Key discussions covered:
- Overview of the new vs old services and their purpose/role
- Simplified Submit response payload layout and guiding principles
- Proposed names for the VR and MST artefacts
- Updates to the AS2025 Get response schema with new attributes
- Impact of xsi:nilattribute introduction in AS2025 service, including a sample payload of the AS2025 Get response
Open discussion
Discussions covered the following:
- AS2009, ASLRPT2014, ITCRPT2014 and LDGLST2016 deprecation date of 31 December 2026
- Draft AS2025 technical artefacts published on the DSP Hub for review.
Next steps
The group will reconvene in 2025 with the next working group meeting to be held on 16 January 2025.
