Our people covered a range of topics at the recent Australian Business Software Industry Association (ABSIA) conference in Sydney on 24 October, including on the uses of tax data and data security, STP and eInvoicing.

This year’s conference theme was ‘Digital Business, Digital Economy’  and our speakers included:

  • Chief Digital Officer and Deputy Commissioner, John Dardo, who took part in a panel discussion on 'data as an ecosystem'.
  • Smarter Data Deputy Commissioner, Marek Rucinski, spoke about how we use data to prevent fraud, and provide better tax services to help businesses.
  • Single Touch Payroll, Superannuation and Employer Obligations Assistant Commissioner, Jason Lucchese, covered recent insights, lessons and the next steps for STP.
  • Digital Partnership Office and eInvoicing acting Assistant Commissioner, Mark Stockwell, discussed the progress of Trans-Tasman eInvoicing and the ATO's role in PEPPOL eInvoicing in Australia.

Speaker slides and photographs from the event are now available on the ABSIA website.
