The Modernisation of Trust Administration Systems (MTAS) project is an ATO initiative aimed at improving the integrity of the tax system through improving the end to end trust experience for clients.
This meeting is scheduled for Wednesday 7 February 2024 at 2:00 pm AEDT.
Key outcomes
Below is a summary of key outcomes. Note: the full outcomes and any presentation materials are available in the Online services for DSPs.
At this meeting, discussion points were:
Technical Design and Specifications
The group was provided with an overview of the latest Validation Rules (VRs) for the INCDTLS service which was published in the FEBRUARY 2024 EVTE release.
Cross-form validation rules are present to ensure values entered in the Income Details Schedule will match with the Individual income tax return parent form.
Managing labels
The group was walked through a draft mapping of the Statement of Distribution (SoD) to the Trust Income Schedule (TIS) labels in the ITR and NITR returns. For the items not mapped, they are informational only and don’t map to the body of the return and are not required to lodge a return.
Group discussion
Recent MTAS related queries will be answered and published on a Q&A page in Online Services for DSPs once responses are available.
Next steps
The working group will reconvene post PROD release, sometime in July 2024.
