This focus group was formed to determine the impact of the IDS revitalisation project on digital service providers.
The need for this focus group was indicated at the ATO-DSP partnership event - services for tax practitioners and was formed by attendees of this event.
The focus group took place in webinar format, and was held on Friday 24 November 2017 from 1.30pm to 3.30pm AEDT.
The focus group was presented with an overview of the changes to the IDS form and the expected timeframe for release.
Feedback from the attendees indicated that, given the expected date of 8 December for the release of draft specifications for the new form, there should be no issue for digital service providers to make the form available to clients prior to expected lodgment date.

It was recommended that the draft form and specifications be published to the relevant sections of the Software developers website when available and communicated via the Daily update and Digital Service Providers newsletter.
It is expected that these will be available by 8 December 2017.
