From 1 July 2012, businesses in the building and construction industry need to report the total payments they make to contractors for building and construction services to the ATO each year. The first report will cover payments made in the 2012-13 financial year and is due to be lodged by 21 July 2013.
The FINAL Electronic reporting specification - taxable payments annual report version 1.0.1 has been published to the software developers website. Changes to this version of the specification only include updates to existing information. A clean and tracked version has been provided for your information.
This version incorporates:
- the removal of all reference to the BAS agent portal as the taxable payments reporting system is not within the definition of a BAS provision and therefore this annual report cannot be lodged by BAS agents,
- the inclusion of information about the File transfer 'Test facility' for software developers to test Taxable payments annual reports,
- the addition of instructions for naming of the Taxable payments annual report files, and
- updates to information content.
A detailed list of changes can be found in the section "Changes in this version of the specification" within the document.
Additionally, the Electronic reporting test scenario for the Taxable payments annual report versions 1.0.0 and 1.0.1 has been published to the software developers website in the Test scenarios subsection for both Business and Payroll. The test scenario replaces the interim test scenario that was published on 29 May 2012.
This test scenario provides instructions on testing the Taxable payments annual report software and listing of the product on the Product Register.
If you have registered an intent to support the Taxable payments annual report, you must remove this before listing the tested product on the Product Register
3/04/2013 - Both version 1.0 and 1.0.1 are now in the one resource as the data sets are the same.
